CASTE BASED RESERVATION POLICY OF INDIA

Image
INTRODUCTION:- Caste based reservation is a peculiarity that is observed only in the context of India. No other country in this world has given a caste based reservation to it's citizens. However, there is a historical background to this system. In the medieval ages, the condition of the Indian backward castes such as the Dalits and the tribals of India was horrendous. there was a widespread inhumane treatment of such castes and tribes and after the independence of India caste based reservation in India was introduced. Nowadays, reservation which was originally introduced to alleviate the backward castes from their condition has become a political tool. in some ways the true meaning of alleviation has also been lost. THE PROPORTION OF RESERVATION:- The proportion of reservation given to various castes, tribes, other backward classes (OBC) and economically weaker sections (EWS) is as follows: From the above table it is quite clear that there is a reservation quota for 59.5% of the t...

ORGANIZATIONAL CULTURE

Image
INTRODUCTION The culture of an organization is the sole determinant of the functioning of san organization. A leader of an organization has to understand and create a culture in an organization. Culture is something that transcends the professional as well as the informal activities of a business unit. All the activities that are conducted by an organization should be looked at in the context of the culture that is existent in that unit. For example, the working style of a TATA employee and a Reliance employee would be inherently different. All the multinational companies tend to have a strong and influential organizational behaviour and a work culture. When we here the name Apple we almost certainly get the image it's pioneer Steve Jobs. What made Steve Jobs a great leader was the fact that he was ready to win the minds of his employees and share his vision with them. All of these things are not possible without a strong and all pervasive organizational work culture.  For i...

SOCIAL-PSYCHOLOGY AND CONSUMER BEHAVIOUR

Image
INTRODUCTION:- Social psychology can be attributed to be a primary driver of the way in which consumers decide what should be purchased. The main  drivers to understand  consumer behavior are  motivation, opinion, attitudes and lifestyle .  several definitions made on this subject indicate that the consumer behaviour is made from the intellectual and societal trends that people go through and make decisions with respect to the goods and services to be purchased. Consumers buy products in order to satisfy their physical, social, psychological and mental needs. The motivation of a person to buy a product is not just related to it's overall quality. Consumers also derive utility from the social validation that they receive from using a product. For example, a person is motivated to buy a Mercedes car despite completely knowing the fact the other brands such as BMW and Audi provide roughly the same features because he/she feels that by driving a Mercedes woul...
